Mykola's peaceful life is turned upside down when war breaks out in his hometown of Donbass. His wife is killed and his home is burned to the ground, leaving him with nothing. In an effort to make a difference, he enlists in a sniper company and sets out to take revenge on the militants who killed his wife. But as he comes face to face with the enemy and witnesses the true horrors of war, he begins to emotionally break down. His instructor, a friend who becomes mortally wounded, ultimately saves him from a senseless death and leaves a lasting impact on Mykola. He is ready to sacrifice his life for the cause.
